{FAQ}: Oktoberfest 2012

Start on 04 October -> Ending 14 October (10 days)

Oktoberfest 2012 has finally made it to Farmerama. All of us are very excited about this event and can't   wait to start and finish it.

The brewery wants to have its own Beer tent. But to achieve that, they will need a lot of malt beer! Let's help them build their tent!

Minimum level required participate to Oktoberfest 2012?
  • Level 2

* How can I access the event?

You van see the Event in the Farmer's Society and the Event Place in front of the Farmers Society:

* What is Oktoberfest bringing?

There will be a special Event Crop: Malted grains

Time: 3 hours
EP (2x2): 30 EP
Plant category: "Event"
Can be grown on all lands (including Bahamarama)
From level: 2 (including Bahamarama)
  • Donate your harvested malted grains in a 10-step-3-difficulties Farmer's Society Quest, to receive in exchange Malt beer kegs and other great prizes.
  • Use your Malt beer kegs and watch them grow into fermented Malt beer kegs
Time for a fully grown Level-4 keg: 16 hours.

Once harvested, you'll find them in your Barn under the "Other" tab
  • Then, you can donate your fermented Malt beer kegs to the 6 tiered Event
  • There will also be a drop-item: Glucose syrup that can be used on the fermenting beer kegs to reduce the fermentation time of the beer keg by 25% (can be used 1x per keg).
You can add the Glucose to each beer keg by clicking on its special icon:

* This Quest seems complicated: Malted grains, Fermenting Malt beer kegs, Farmer's Society Quest, Event Place Quest... where do I start?

Firstly, as mentioned above: plant your 10 free malted grain seeds (add water, manure, Suzy's fertilizer and super-grow if you wish). Do not forget to use a harvest revenue product as well (Pumpkin Jam or Carrot Apple Chutney)
All players level 2+ will get 10 seeds at the beginning of the Event. They will not be in the Seed Shops, nor will they be buyable/sellable at the market. If you drop down to less than 5 seeds, you'll need to wait for the automatic replenishment every 4 - 5 hours.

* Can I buy a Starter Pack to get a good head start for this Event?

Yes, of course!
There are two Starter-Baskets in the Shopping Center

Sweet Malt Beer Basket
• 250x Malted grains
• 5x Fermented Malt beer kegs stage 4
• 20x Glucose syrup
• 50x super-grow

* OK, now: my malted grain plants are growing, where should I go first Farmer's Society? or the Event Place?
  • First go to visit Farmer's Society, as you'll need the prize-items from this quest (Malt beer kegs), to participate in the Event Place Quest!!!
where you'll find a 10-step quest, with silver-gold-diamond jobs.

Here is the chart with the required items and the prizes:

Oktoberfest Quest

It's also possible to reset/re-start the quest at any moment for 25 BB, by using the "reset" button at the top right of the quest window:

By accepting to re-start the quest at Step 1 Silver, you get to keep any rewards that you have won up to that point.

If you don't have enough items to finish a job/challenge, it's preferable NOT to start donating items, as these are non-refundable!

* OK, I've done a few challenges (still have a few to do), I now have some Malt beer kegs. What do I do with them?
Once you have won some Malt beer kegs, you'll be able to plant them (on an empty space) and watch them grow!
The Beer kegs can be harvested manually at any stage of their fermentation (they will go to your Barn under "other" tab

* Can I speed up the growing time of these Beer Kegs?

Click on the Harvester Machinery, and you'll see a 4th icon, allowing you to add Glucose syrup to all the fermenting kegs simultaneously (as long as you have enough Glucose syrup in your inventory!)
  • Glucose syrup can also be bought in the Shopping Center

* How will I ever get enough malt beer kegs to finish the event-place quest?
The Event-Place quest requires a total CC-value of 75000 malt beer kegs.

This can be achieved by harvesting 750 Stage 4 malt beer kegs.

The Farmer's Society quest will give you a maximum of 871 malt beer kegs (if you complete all 10 steps, all 3 difficulties).

So it is do-able.
It's up to you not to harvest your Malt beer kegs too quickly, as they have less value!

871 kegs :
  • harvested at stage 1 will give 21775 CC value
  • harvested at stage 2 will give 43550 CC value
  • harvested at stage 3 will give 65325 CC value
  • harvested at stage 4 will give 87100 CC value
Note: The Harvester-Machinery does NOT harvest your malt beer kegs, at ANY of the levels
* OK, I've been silly, and harvested ALL my malt beer kegs before they got to stage 4. How can I finish the Event Place Quest?
  • Quest Restart Button – As soon as you have achieved at least 1 challenge, you will see a new icon appear on the quest window of the Farmer's Society Quest.
  • You will be able to reset the Farmer's Society Quest, whatever point you have achieved so far, you can start again at step 1!
(this can be useful maybe if you have enough goods to do all the silver+gold challenges, but no color-palettes, for example...)
  • Price for restarting the quest: 25 BB
    It´s possible multiple times.
WARNING:
This action is NOT reversible!

Techies will NOT be able to give you details of the previous attempt if you have re-set the quest, as it will also re-set their Logs!

* Will leftover Glucose syrup and Beer kegs be exchanged after the event?

• Glucose syrup – 15 EP and 15 CC

• malt beer keg 4 – 10 EP and 10 CC
